Re: VHF/AIS Upgrade

I had the full Lowrance VHF Link 8 AIS set up in my previous 2016 Ocean Pro 220 and I can tell you from my experience it was worth it. My primary fishing area is the Straits of Juan De Fuca with occasional trips over to Canada and the San Juans. With AIS I could see marine traffic all over the strai...

Re: Contacting Hewes

Scott Fredrick was the guy there at Hewes to deal with. Awesome guy, but I heard he retired recently so my worry is that his replacement may not be on top of it yet.

Re: Best Salt water fish finder/nav

Lowrance have some amazing deals right now too so glad you availed of it. Regarding the I-pad I think one of our members have tried an I-pad on his OP 220 at the rear and was not a success. Why not get a dedicated Lowrance HDS 7" at the rear and ethernet connect them together. That's what I had as y...

Re: SeaRunner 210 VS ProV 20 vs Ocean Pro 220

One very important note Jer is that when you are draining your boat with a positive nose up attitude, DO NOT leave the boat permanently in that position. If you look at EZ Loaders notes on their double axle trailers, it states that the trailer should be parked level with the ground after you are don...

Yes all the Hewescrafts have rear drains to allow the boats to drain whilst storing or washing.

Re: SeaRunner 210 VS ProV 20 vs Ocean Pro 220

Hey Bob. Yes, I did not look back after making the decision over the Pro V, SeaRunner and going with our 2 Ocean Pro. We got nearly 4 years out of her and loved every bit of it. The main reason I have moved up to a bigger model is the wife wanted a bigger boat with full galley, V-Berth plus a macera...

Re: SeaRunner 210 VS ProV 20 vs Ocean Pro 220

When I had my 2016 OP 220 the aluminum floor was not an option. I'm open to correction on this but I think the aluminum floor was/is only for models abover the Ocean Pro.

I have it added to be fitted on my PC 240 when it's being built as a precaution, lightweight plus it's more wear resistant.

Re: SeaRunner 210 VS ProV 20 vs Ocean Pro 220

Great advice, appreciate it. I have a bad taste from soft tops and canvas going bad and/or dripping all over you - looking for the hardtop with bulkhead to keep the kids contained underway as well and have a lockable area to keep gear etc Was hoping the open side windows, open middle windshield and...

Re: SeaRunner 210 VS ProV 20 vs Ocean Pro 220

The missus and I looked at all of those models when we were in the market. We settled on a 2016 Ocean Pro 220 HT/ET and never looked back. It filled all the slots for what we wanted to do at the time and where we fish, which is primarily out in the straits with the occasional foray over to Canada an...

Re: Best Salt water fish finder/nav

The most common positions on the Ocean Pro's to site a 2nd unit is as you've seen from everyone here on the forum is above the window. Mine was also sited there if you look closely you can see the bracket and wires covered for winter. Mine were connected via ethernet and directly above it on the roo...
