Re: Portable planar heater

I would think that you could rig it to plug right into a 12v cig lighter outlet... Where will it exhaust to? Not talking about the heat venting...but about the combustion exhaust. Definitely buy A CO detector...

Re: General Questions

I don't raise the main while on the troll with the kicker. My main is tied to the kicker so assists steering as an added rudder. Plus, the down positioned main is less obtrusive to fishing lines, netting, etc....

PS.... never leave the kicker down while running on the main,,

Re: 4 Ft Envy

Do you have to buy a BC boat? Looks like they have a 240 OP at T & J's in Mt Vernon WA... ANd a 23 Kingfisher that looks pretty darn good. I looked hard at the Raider prior to buying my Hewes and just felt that the overall build quality and amenities were sub par comparatively. Plus, resale on t...

Re: Previous Boat prior to a Hewescraft

Then again I think my OP is the Northwestern from deadliest catch :D Speaking of the Northwestern..... my tech assistant at work is Casey's daughter..... so I got a full tour and crew meet-up while they were here in Ballard stocking up prior to heading back North! Really nice folks.. The NW seemed ...

Re: Spotted a Sunken Boat

My guess is first notify CG so they can investigate and deal with any injury, loss of life or environmental issues....and then file a salvage claim...

It's obviously sitting upright on the bottom. Do you know what the depth was at that location?

Re: Bending the factory trim tab (hull extension)

Just my opinion, but adding the adjustable trim tabs are the far better option. Those tabs, along with proper engine trim will solve your porpoising issues. Plus the trim tabs have the added benefit of adjusting port / starboard balance.... Plus...... and this is something most may never think of......

Re: Scuba tank holders

I no longer dive here in the NW so don't carry any tanks on my Hewes..... But, if it was me, I'd go with a couple of these Sea Suckers and mount them in the aft starboard corner area. No drilling, no fabricating, easy to store when not in use. If you put these in that back area on the inside of the ...

Re: 2021 270 Alaskan

Can't give you any performance data......but I'm pretty sure that if I ever upgrade my OP that it will be to a AK 270 with the No. 3 configuration

Re: Previous Boat prior to a Hewescraft

My last boat prior to the Hewes was a 22ft Arima Sea Legend - 2001... then also had Trophy's and Whalers prior to that. I also had a nice little 16ft Valco Bayrunner and 16ft Starcraft.....both riveted. My current 220 OP is my first welded Aluminum boat.... What I really love about this Hewes 220 mo...
