Re: Spun hub F200XB

Checked with some smart Yamaha folks and was told runout for the 2019 200XB needs to be within .007". ;)

Re: Preventative Maintenance Importance

Nice clean engine shows it was well cared for/serviced!

Sometimes there are fittings that look like they should have a hose attached but are intentionally left open to atmosphere. I cannot say if that's the case with the two in your second pic. Service manual should help with that. ;)

Re: Honda 130 Impeller question?

Before I forget again Bruce, welcome aboard. 8-) The keyway for my Merc looks almost exactly the same as yours, am sure I have an extra in the shop so will post a pic later for reference. Think you're doing the right thing servicing the water pump, especially if you don't have any service records in...

Re: Honda 130 Impeller question?

Is there a top or bottom, or does it matter? Were the vanes on the new impeller straight or "formed" as shown in the pictures? Straight, right? What I see in your pictures show is rubber overmold or "flashing" on one side. If the impeller was designed to be installed one way only, I'm sure there wo...

Re: sharkhide on a new boat/Advice

Very good points Ray and I agree for reasons you mention. As to the hull, I only coated back to front of bunks. Didn't care about the part of hull I can't see and is scraped by bunks anyway. Hunter that's his boat in what looks to be Chap's shop for bottom paint and those are baseboard heaters being...

Re: Spun hub F200XB

Noise wasn't present prior to log strike, not present in neutral, so could be a harmonic variation induced by propshaft. I'd check propshaft runout with a dial indicator.
