I've been looking for ideas to get my cooler off the floor in my 16' Sportsman (not a lot of room!). Got the name of a welder in the area that does lots of aluminum boat modifications. Ran my boat and cooler out to his shop last week and he had some pretty good ideas.
He angled the platform on the motor side to make sure the motor wouldn't hit it. He tacked on some tabs to lock in the bottom of the cooler and also welded in some short sections of tube underneath so I could tie/bungie the cooler handles down as well. He also replaced the small factory transducer plate with a larger one to support the newer larger style transducers (just in case I upgrade someday) while he was at it.
Two days later and it was ready to go. I think it turned out pretty good.

Our sport jet 18' had a swim deck all the way across.
The motor was inboard so we did not have to fret about an outboard.
We had a big Yeti and two 5 gal cans of fuel strapped on the back just like that.
Worked great.
