The amount of corrosion is surprising. Glad I did not put it off another year

This weeks update.
I got the front section cleaned & painted. Got the wood floor dried out, sealed and put back in.
Pulled up the aft floor, these pics show what I found. Port side huge cavity, wonder where Hewes thought the water would go. Starbd side you can see where the foam sunk and left a spot for water to sit. The wood floor is pretty wet and will take heat and several days to dry out.
This foam is wetter that the foam from up front

Houston, we have a problem.
Ok, pulled the foam out as far back as I can go. No way to get the foam out of the back corners and no way to create a drain path to the bilge pump.
Any ideas?

I came up with a method for getting enough foam out to create a drain path to the very back of the boat, but there is no easy option for getting that drain to the bilge, short of cutting out a lot of aluminum, which I really dont want to do.
Getting really fed up with poor designs and little thought or effort put into what really is a critical element of any boat.

I just sent Hewes an email, complete with pictures. I doubt it will resolve anything but I needed to vent.
This boat was purchased in March 2019 (new) in March 2020 it went into the dealership to have window seals and minor corrosion repaired, the week after I dropped it off, covid kicked in and it was 13 weeks before I got the boat back, I got 1 trip in July and was diagnosed with a heart condition needing surgery so the boat was in the garage for the next 8 months. This year is really the first full summer use I have been able to get out of it since I purchased it. I am so disappointed right now that I am considering selling my boat and buying another brand, just not sure what as I think they all use foam.

Sorry to hear all this David..... Hewes makes a big deal about marketing that their boats are the number 1 aluminum boat in AK where the weather extremes are extreme as they get on the salt.... All of our expectations should be that we can use our boats as intended with NORMAL maintenance and protective / preventative measures and then just enjoy it. Sounds like that's not the case here.....

When not in the water how / where are you storing your boat?

In that case then I would say that Hewes has some answering to do.

Does your garage have a roof? I store mine outside, under a cover and have used extensively over the last 14 months. It’s no where near as dirty in the transom area, still looks brand new. It looks like there’s a lot of leaves and dirt build up. Is that just from removing the floorboards/foam?
