Repairing vinyl on floor

Unread post by Javahead33 »

Hi all, spent the day yesterday scrubbing down my 07 pro v and have discovered a couple of tears in the vinyl in the center aft section. It's bound to get worse due to high traffic and so I figure I'll need to fix it. I think the floor is warrantied but how about the vinyl? Any suggestion for fixing the tears,

I don't know about where you are but we have a few vehicles running around town here that do vinyl repair, might be worth a call to an upholstry shop. Depending on the size of the tear consider one of those epoxy kits in the hypodermic tube and put a small bead over the tear.

I used Gorilla super glue. That stuff is A M A Z I NG! The wood floor underneath was a bit damp too and it still adheard. It did leave a bit of a shiny spot where it oozed out but it's hard to tell. My repair spot is just above the cap of the bottle about 2" wide. I have a release latch on my outboard cowling held together with it also. It will always be in my boat tool box from now on

I'm sold! Great picture. I'm on my way to Freddies for some super glue.

Thanks a million.

I found this damage to my floor after my last trip home from the lake. Obviously something heavy fell, or one of the guys that went with me dropped something? This rip is about the size of a nickle and the wood underneath has a little damage. I would appreciate any advise on the best way to fix/seal this?

If/when the vinyl is beyond repair you might take a look at what we used on our deck replacement vs vinyl:

Tuff Coat Rubberized Non Skid Coating

So far so good... it is holding up remarkably well.

It's a 2018 boat and the floor is like new other than this damage. I went to West Marine and picked up some Marine Goop that's clear and good for wood or vinyl and will seal it as well. Hopefully, it will work.

Either that or maybe spray on truck bed liner would work.... My Chevy 2500 HD has had a lot of tough cargo including gravel, quarry spalls, etc and I don't see any damage or breaches to the liner..
