You could weld a permanent patch, just like a vinyl deck.
The vinyl material is the same/similar as the deck covering you can get at the home store.
You can buy a few feet of material off the roll, rent a heat gun and weld a small patch on.
Here's some youtube install videos:

Fortunately, it wasn't that big of a tear so the Marine Goop, spread under the area, then restretching the vinyl and letting it dry with some weight on it did the trick. I can hardly tell where it was torn. Worked great!

My experience is with fiberglass boats (Arima's). The deck traction pattern wears down over the years and the boat's response to swells is getting steeper each year. ( I am certain it has something to do with climate change and nothing to do with my aging  ) With a wet deck, slippery is becoming more of a concern (especially when covered with TUNA blood).

I ended up covering the fishing 'Dance Floor' with SeaDek. That stuff, while not cheap, is amazing. Boat became less noisy, traction is out standing, ease on the feet (from a cushioned surface) is remarkable. After 2 years, I finally got around to cleaning the deck... and boy was it an ugly mess between blood, dirt, spilled coffee, lunch leftovers -- the list goes on. I was amazed at how well it cleans up with a simple pressure washing (no soap or scrubbing). I have a couple pieces from the original install. When laid on the pressure washed material, it was difficult to differentiate.

While expensive, SeaDek runs a 50% off sale on Black Friday... If you are interested, I recommend you get your homework done and figure out what you want so when the time comes, you will be ready to order.

All that being said, I ordered the snow camo pattern as it really hides the dirt well.. Oh, it will not install over any flexible flooring such as canvas or carpet... Works great on solid wood, metal and fiberglass...should work on vinyl, but I would talk with Seadek before ordering.

Perhaps some one answer me here. What is the brand and thickness( on mills) of the 2010 18 Sportsman vinyl carpet glued on the top of the floor plywood? The time to replace it but I would like to get the same or similar. Thanks!
