I have a 2019 Pacific Explorer 260. Been procrastinating installing the fire extinguisher.
Where has everyone found the best place to install these at?
Was thinking on the side of the kitchen cabinet and then one up in the V berth. Was wondering if anyone had better ideas before I go drilling holes.

Re: Fire extinguisher questions
I would put mine on both sides of entry door so it is available on either side as needed. You won’t have walk through fire to use it .

Re: Fire extinguisher questions
An additional one in the berth may not be a bad idea.

Re: Fire extinguisher questions
I have the 26 PE also and mounted mine:
1) In the berth in the tray against the bulkhead, left side as you enter the cabin. left side because a lot of wiring is on the right side and that has a greater chance for a fire there and I did not want to have to reach through the fire to get it.
2) In the main cabin right behind my head on the bulkhead stiffener between the windows on the right side as you enter the cabin. literally right behind my head as I am piloting. I know you may thing that it will go flying off and hit me in the head, but it has been 6 years and it has only fell off the wall once when a RORO sent us a wake that was 12' high and we fell of the back side of it like falling off the roof of a building. it sent $h*t flying everywhere.
3) Is right outside the cabin to the right under the outside helm. Keeps it out of the way. note: I had to stick a cap over the nozzle opening to keep the Mason bees from filling it, the kind that you might put over a bolt on a kids swing. I have not had to use it yet but I am assuming it will fly off once I squeeze the handle.
I am a retired Coast Guard CWO4 and our rule is to have a minimum of "Two to fight your way out of a confined space and one to fight your way in if you must go in, then using the other two to fight your way back out."
