Suspension seats

Unread post by achebone »

I have a 18' ET Searunner my wife has developed osteoporosis and I am wanting to put in suspension seats so she can continue going out in the boat and have as smooth a ride as possible . We live in Ladner B.C. Canada , I am hoping there is some experience to there in swapping the original seats with a good functioning suspension seat ....Thanks !

I changed out my seat boxes for a Wave Pro 2.0 system earlier this year. After a summer on the ocean under my belt now testing them I am really happy with them.

Here's the write up on my install, I added a raised deck area which you wouldn't have to do for a normal install. One nice thing is they weigh a hell of a lot less than other seat suspension systems. They are made back east and are very popular on the Great Lakes.

Check out the smooth moves web site: https://smoothmovesseats.com/

Good instructions on mounting there

I went with the spring version mounted on low steel boxes with open storage underneath

A game changer

We Got ours from RIVERRUNNERRECREATION.CA about 3 years ago best price I could find and one of the best upgrades we ever did on the boat

The suspension that come on the 2020 searunner leaves a lot to be desired. The seats are nice, but there’s too much rebound when going over chop, it needs a shock absorber or something. I believe they are made by Seatsinc

Hi , we upgraded our seats with Shockwave S5 bases and Tempress Probax Captains seats. The S5 has multiple adjustments for different water conditions. the Tempress seats are firm and offer great support.
Really happy with them.
Downside is that this combo doesn't come cheap ...
The install was straight forward. We had to cut the boxes/bases to make them shorter.
Worth considering for sure.

Ditto on Shockwave S5 bases. I used the Corbin seats with them in my OP 220. They are made in Sydney BC. Best mod I’ve done on my boat. Replaced heavy pos Mariner at helm and smooth mooves at passenger. In both cases it was an order of magnitude improvement. However, those bases that Jim Dandy installed look pretty slick…
