New Server Plan

Unread post by SilverFox »

Quick FYI the forum has been moved to a new server effective today but should be seamless to users.

Operating costs had more than doubled the past several months due to exceeding space limitations of the original plan. The new plan has unlimited bandwidth and webspace, 12 times as much database space (400mb to 5gb) and several other enhancements.

That's awesome that you take all the time, effort and expense of keeping the lights on here Phil. I have benefited greatly from all of the knowledge here.......

but then.... I've also spent a hellofa lot of $$$ benefiting from all of the knowledge here..

Anyway...... THANK-YOU!

PS.... I'm actually hoping that the new bandwidth and data space might make it easier to post photo's.

You're welcome and thank you!

The photo posting issue hopefully will improve with future forum software upgrades. Am considering at least one other forum software package but as yet haven't decided whether to retain the current software package or move to an entirely new one. I'll update the existing package first and see how things go.

Edit to add: It can take up to 24hrs for DNS servers worldwide to fully populate so if you're seeing anything odd compared to before, that could be why. Transfer was completed 12:31 yesterday afternoon.
