Just wondering if anybody has been fishin there lately? I heard the chinook are up there....? Thought about givin it a shot since we're gonna be up at Rufus anyways.....
Never fished for salmon before.....any pointers would be helpful; lures, bait...etc. Thanks!! :reeling:

How far below the dam? Are you talking Brewster pool? I Haven't fished the stretch above the Brewster pool/below Chief Joseph dam before.
If your talking Brewster pool you can try Brads Super baits..Fall colors are Lemon Lime, Mt. Dew, Hot Tamale, Hot Lava. Stuff them with canned tuna in oil mixed with Graybills Salmon scent. I use a green or chrome 360 pro troll flasher and use bead swivels. Leader Length 36"-48" (I go shorter side) and troll 1.8 MPH using a Luhr Jenson speed indicator hangin over side. Not sure what GPS speed is. Just look for a guide and match his speed. about 18' foot down to start on downriggers. Do you have Downriggers?
I haven't fished there this year but thats what I have used for years up there with success.
