Just getting broke in. If you can see the lettering you have a ways to go. Some have a wear indicator not sure if Martyr anodes do.

Hey Andrew.

There is a fair bit of corrosion on those. Do you have your engines lowered or raised when docked in the harbor? Do you have stainless or aluminum props? You may want to check the anodes on your outboards too. Looks like you could be moored in an active/hot marina by the looks of those?

When was the last time the anodes were replaced and is the boat trailered or dock when not fishing? Could we have more pictures of the hull?

Is the bottom of your boat painted too? Never moor an aluminum boat for extended periods without having it bottom painted.

I had all the anodes replaced during my 100hour engine maintenance, except for these ones on the back of the boat as the mechanic said they weren't worn enough. That was a few months ago but because I had the boat out of the water yesterday, I was just looking for an opinion before I put it back in the water... which I have now.. so I'm glad to hear they still have a ways to go.

I keep both the kicker and main out of the water in it's mooring spot, and it's kept in fresh water at a dock in the Fraser river. The prop on the main is stainless and I'm pretty sure I have exactly the correct anodes for an aluminum boat as I got the set based on the recommended of a forum member here who knows his stuff.

This was posted on TheHullTruth. "A boat kept in a slip may need to have the anodes changed once a year or every few months. It depends on the water and the condition of the electrical system on your boat and other boats in the marina. The only way to know if they need to be replaced is to inspect them. If they are 50% gone, they should be replaced"
This anode should be replaced.

Thats pretty impressive for fresh water. Mine has only been in the water for about 200 hours and mine looks brand new. Still has stickers on it. Did you clean it with a wire brush or the like before you put it back in?

Yes, I hit it with a wire brush. I do run out to salt water from time to time.

Overall I'm sorry to say that I'm unhappy with my 2019 Hewes, I've lost confidence in it and I wish I had bought a different make instead.
