ClearStow extension

Unread post by rvanpra01 »

I received a standard Clear Stow for Christmas, but found out quickly that it's not long enough or has enough sleeves to adequately protect the soft top glass on our style boats. I called clear stow and they wanted $350 plus for a custom bag....roughly 30in longer. Yes, you read that right, TRIPLE the price for a bit longer. Me, being a major penny squeezing cheap a$$, sought out to find some similar material to extend myself(with the help of someone who can sow in my family of course)

I bought 6 yards of this stuff: https://www.sailrite.com/Protect-It-Gray-63-Fabric

You can probably get by with about 4(I would measure first,) but I wanted to make sure I had enough. So I went for an extra yard...and then some.

Came out pretty nice, even before it was sewed. I'll like it even more once it's all finished. I think total shipped cost was about $70, but I'm sure you can cut some of the cost if you're interested.

Yep, 350 would be too much. The custom bag they made me was $252 and that was hard enough to swallow.
