The stepover idea on the 2017 is an awesome addition IMHO.... Makes for easy access to the offshore bracket as well as enhanced access to the kicker. Plus, its a perfect fit for an Igloo cube ice chest which I use a LOT.... Plus, the stepover concept maintains the overall structural integrity of a continuous transom. I don't think that I would ever really open a transom door on a boat this size. Plus, the storage compartment under the stepover is the perfect place for the fuel tank for my Espar heater.

Too many days off (3). No boat. Just been reading old posts. Just finished the fishing one. Gotta figure out how to get to the older ones. In the last couple days I’ve had a lot of “good suggestions” for a few people. Most of the time I sober up by morning and delete them. Didn’t get to this one in time today.

Any chance of someone posting a picture of one installed on an ocean pro?

I have just finished up an install of a Planar 44d in my SeaRunner 190 HT. I made a bracket that allowed me to hang it behind the port bench seat that I thought was a good solution. The heater is still mounted to the standard stainless bracket that is sold with the heaters. Here are a couple of pictures.

It never occurred to me to install the heater outside of the cabin. Not too worried about it getting wet?

Not the Planar unit but the Espar on my Ocean Pro is pretty much the same type and size unit.. The main heater unit is installed behind the port sleeper seat back. Here's a link to some pics.

It's inside the cabin, note the folded port bench seat and port grab handle. View of drop curtain is from inside. ;)

I fired up the Planar 44D for the first time this morning and I am very impressed with it. It cranks out the heat and the air flow is excellent. The motorcycle exhaust wrap will steam for the first five minutes from the residual water used during installation. Having dry heat on demand with a thermostat is a great addition to the boat. My overall impression of the Planar is that it's very well built, nothing cheap about it. I went with the PU-27 controller which is LED and adds some additional controls. Here are some hopefully better pics that show the install.

Looks great Richard...! Do you have a reverse angle on the exhaust port and a sharp U in the hose attached to it to avoid water potentially getting in?
