Rocker switch on the cowl

Unread post by CWFollett »

Is there a way to install a power tilt switch on a Honda engine cowl like the higher horsepower motors have ? When I launch and have to raise my 115 to disengage the travel lock there is a rocker switch on the engine cowl so you do not have to get to the engine controls. The 8 hp dose not have that rocker switch so you have to climb into the boat to raise the engine to disengage the travel lock . Of course when you trailer the boat the same is true to engage the locks .

I'd be interested to see if there is an option for this...... so bookmarking this topic.. Seems like Honda should have had that option installed on all of their power tilt motors.

I'm fortunate in that my cockpit station controls for the kicker are easy to reach without climbing into the boat......but it still would be nice to have a tilt switch on the motor juts like the bigger HP's

This is how they rigged mine.

About the “travel lock”... maybe Honda is different...

Nate.... Do you also have another tilt switch on your shift lever at your kicker controls?
