Should I cut out the insulation?

Unread post by Stickman »

Well, after reading some posts about the corrosion issues dealing with the foam, I decided (with much hesitation/fear) to pull my  deck and check under my 2015  20' Hewes Pro-V. What do you think?. I don't have alot of knowledge on this, but doesn't seem too bad on top (corrosion -wise)?   I'm guessing most of any damage/concern would be under the foam where moisture could  be trapped? Pull out all the insulation?

That is nothing more than dirt and debris that has found it's way beneath the floors from the side gaps and butt joints. IMHO, clean around the foam but leave it as is unless you know it's saturated and it sure doesn't look to be so.

Looks just like mine did.
I left it and sealed the floorboards when I reinstalled them.

Clean it up a little and put the floor back. Re- seal the gaps. Don,t forget the edges next to where the floor buts up to the sides. Looks fine. I can,t tell from your pictures but does your 2015 model have the drainage canal around the sides and back of the floor like the newer models?
